Working with service cheques

“Since 2004, service cheques have been an available payment method for household help. The system is very simple: you pay 1 service cheque per hour worked. Such a cheque is subsidized by the government and is partly tax deductible, allowing you to enjoy a clean house, clean laundry or a tasty meal from as little as € 7,20. How do I register with Sodexo?

Free registration with Sodexo can be done in 2 ways:

  1. Through this online form. Your registration is immediately in order if you do this using your eID. If you enter your details manually, your registration will be in order within 7 working days.
  2. Print this paper form, fill it in and deliver it to Sodexo via the online contact form or by post (Sodexo Dienstencheques, Pleinlaan 15, 1050 Ixelles).
What is the maximum number of cheques I can order?

You can order a maximum of 500 cheques per year. The first 400 cost € 9, the next 100 cost € 10.

There is an exception for single parents, people with a disability and people receiving elderly care benefits: they can order 2,000 cheques each year.

Finally, women who have just given birth and are self-employed are entitled to 105 free service vouchers under certain conditions. You do not have to apply yourself: you will be contacted by your social insurance fund if you are eligible.

Why choose electronic service cheques?

Electronic service cheques have numerous advantages compared to paper cheques:

  • You can easily manage your cheques via the app or via the secure area, and you can check your history at any time.
  • You cannot lose the cheques. Moreover, the oldest cheques are automatically used first – this prevents your cheques from expiring.
  • You are notified by Sodexo when a performance is registered and can easily confirm or dispute performances.
  • You will be notified as soon as your cheques run out. So you always know when to reorder cheques.
  • Electronic service cheques that you pay online are immediately available.
